2009 Ford E-250 Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2009 Ford E-250?
A: The servicing and repairing process of Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor begins by unmounting the Air Cleaner (ACL). The MAF sensing elements must not be touched because unit failure will occur. You need to open the ACL first while releasing the air box clamp then cutting the inlet portion free from the outlet section of the ACL. After that enter the MAF assembly removal process through unfastening the latches. The electric connector needs disconnection only after safely pulling the red clip away from its socket. You should remove the two screws that secure the MAF sensor before installing the new sensor at 2 Nm (18 lb-in). Also detach the MAF sensor electrical connector first. The engine needs proper protection from unmetered air entry by ensuring the grommet which seals the ACL housing at the extension harness achieves complete coverage. With the alignment notch in place users should position the inlet and outlet sides of the ACL properly before reinstalling everything in reverse order.
