One should disconnect the battery ground cable and take out the air cleaner during Mass Air Flow sensor service. Touching the MAF sensing elements results in the risk of unit failure so maintain caution. First open the air cleaner while releasing the air box clamp to separate the inlet from the outlet section of the air cleaner. You should then remove the MAF assembly by undoing its latches. Alleviate electrical connection through removing the red clip first after which you can proceed. Tighten the screws which secure the MAF sensor to 2 Nm (18 lb-in) when replacing it with a new sensor. Make sure the grommet which seals the engine air cleaner housing at the extension harness completely rests in its seating to stop unmetered air from accessing the engine. The engine air cleaner installation finishes when you use the alignment notch to position the inlet and outlet correctly followed by reversing the original removal steps.
