How to service and repair the Shift Knob on 2008 Ford Edge?

In order to fix the MKX shift knob, one will have to take off trim ring and center console cover. Disconnect the TC switch connector, remove the trim covers and examine the knob. Unscrew and unhook the knob, and put in a new knob. Plug the TC switch again into the system and fit back the console cover and trim ring.
