Start the service by disconnecting gearshift cables from the transaxle gearshift control assembly through a process of pulling its spring clip from the groove before lifting it and rotating it by 90 degrees. Service of gearshift cables begins with separating each cable from the transaxle bracket before removing the floor console. Follow this by extracting the restraints control module (RCM) and eliminating both smart junction box (SJB) electrical connector and harness electrical connectors. Start by disconnecting gearshift cables from the gearshift lever assembly and next remove two gearshift cable grommet nuts before extracting the cables inside the vehicle.
