How to service and repair the exterior rear door handle on 2008 Ford Expedition?

The repair or servicing process for the exterior rear door handle requires complete elevation of the door glass before starting any work. The first step is to take off the rear door trim and place the water shield to the side. You must remove three bolts from the rear door latch before placing the latch aside while tightening it to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) when reinstalling it. Begin by opening the exterior door handle actuating rod clip then untighten the two exterior rear door handle nuts at 9 Nm (80 lb-in) until their removal before installing them with a torque of 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Both the exterior door handle and door handle actuating rod should be put in the resting state and the exterior door handle rod should be at its highest point before securing the clip. The complete installation process ends when you return to the removal method in reverse order.

The first step is to take off the rear door trim and place the water shield to the side. You must remove three bolts from the rear door latch before placing the latch aside while tightening it to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) when reinstalling it. Begin by opening the exterior door handle actuating rod clip then untighten the two exterior rear door handle nuts at 9 Nm (80 lb-in) until their removal before installing them with a torque of 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Both the exterior door handle and door handle actuating rod should be put in the resting state and the exterior door handle rod should be at its highest point before securing the clip. The complete installation process ends when you return to the removal method in reverse order.
