The service begins with disconnecting the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube from the module. The service continues while removing two bolts and the EGR system module with its gasket that should be discarded. Ensure the raised circle points toward the intake manifold before you clean both mating surfaces with a plastic tool to prevent leak paths from forming through surface scratches. Install the EGR system module at its intended position then fasten it with bolts that need to be torque-wrenched to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Proceed with connecting the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube while applying a torque of 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) then reinstall the electrical connector and vacuum connector to the EGR system module.
