The installation of the exterior door handle actuating rod into the retaining clip requires pushing upward on the rod. The next step requires users to disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod before removing the three door latch bolts properly tightened at 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). The service technician needs to disconnect the manual lock rod and separate the door lock cylinder actuating rod if this feature exists in the system. Remove the cable cover by disconnecting its clip and removing the pin-type retainer then remove the two wiring harness electrical connectors. The interior door handle actuating cable requires special handling because damage will occur when kinked; therefore disconnect this cable. The installation of the new door latch ends by following the reverse steps of removal.
