One must start the repair process by unmounting the front door latch before proceeding with the front door lock actuator service. The front door lock actuator needs to be separated from the front door latch during this procedure. The installation process ends by following all steps that were used during removal.

Service of the front door lock actuator begins with disconnecting the front door ajar switch and then taking off the front door lock actuator. The installation process requires reversing the steps which were used for removal. The procedure used for the left-hand side duplicates the method used on the right-hand side.

Service of the front door lock actuator requires first taking out the front door ajar switch then the front door lock actuator. The installation process ends with performing the opposite sequence to removal. The right-hand side procedure receives demonstration whereas the left-hand side implementation uses the same steps.

The first step to replace or remove the front door lock actuator is to separate the front door latch. You should disconnect the front door lock actuator from its attachment point on the front door latch. Installation of the new actuator should follow the exact opposite steps of the removal process.

Service or repair of the front door latch requires you to first remove the trim panel and bolt before positioning the interior door handle to one side. Start by placing the watershield to the side then disconnect external mirror power supply in addition to removing keyless entry keypad and front door disarm switch power connections. The door module grommet should be pushed through while connecting window regulator and window switch connectors until you can reach the window glass clamp bolts. The window regulator and window switch electrical connectors should be disconnected after marking the forward window glass clamp bolt position since it requires passing through the wiring harness grommet hole. Use pliers to remove two window glass clamp bolts before raising the glass window up to final position with tape as prevention. You must start by taking off the door lock cylinder circlip yet keep the front door lock cylinder rod and pawl off to the side before extracting the front door lock cylinder pawl from its actuating rod. Open the yellow clip to detach the exterior door handle actuating rod from the front door latch and then remove all eleven bolts alongside the three front door latch bolts that will secure the door module in position. Separate the door ajar switch and door lock actuator electrical connectors after disconnecting the push button rod from the front door latch and removing its rain hat using a push pin. The interior door handle cable needs release from the latch before removing the front door latch from its bracket which might require removal of both the door lock actuator and door ajar switch. First position the door lock cylinder pawl along with the door disarm switch following door ajar switch and door lock actuator installation when required. Place the front door latch onto its bracket while joining the interior door handle cable to the latch then position the rain hat onto its designated place on the latch. Affix the push button rod to the front door latch before connecting both the door ajar switch and door lock actuator electrical connection wires. Position the door module before installing eleven bolts secured at 8 Nm (71 lb-in) while the three front door latch bolts should be tight to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). When the exterior door handle meets specification the technician should install it and tighten the door latch before hanging the exterior door handle rod with the yellow clip to maintain free movement and prevent alignment problems. Install the exterior door handle actuating rod to the front door latch by sealing the yellow clip before following up with the front door lock cylinder actuating rod connection to the front door lock cylinder pawl. Place the two window glass clamp bolts on the window while it stays fully rearward in both clamps so you can tighten them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Feeder the wiring harness grommet through the door module and setup the keyless entry keypad along with the front door disarm switch electrical connector if present and also connect the exterior mirror electrical connector in case of equipment. You should first install the watershield followed by positioning the interior door handle before loosely installing the bolt. Prepare the front door trim panel before aligning its interior door handle pins to the front trim and installing the interior handle bolt while tightening it to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

Release the tab on the door lock actuator and slide it off the door latch.

If needed, lubricate the latches with Multi-Purpose Grease Spray F5AZ-19G209-AA or an equivalent that meets Ford specification ESR-M1C159-A.

To complete the installation, reverse the removal procedure and lubricate the front door latch after installation.

Release the rear door push button rod from the door frame retainer.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Release the interior door handle actuating cable locator from the door frame, then open the clip to disconnect the exterior handle actuating rod.

Release the lock cylinder actuating rod.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Disconnect the cable and conduit to fully remove the lower rear door latch.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Open the clip to disconnect the exterior rear door handle actuating rod.

Ensure to tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

Take off the front door trim panel and position the watershield aside.

Disconnect the lower rear door latch actuating cable from the rear door handle.

Release the locking tab to remove the front door lock actuator.

Tighten the screws to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

Remove the rear door latch.

Ensure to tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) and reverse the removal procedure.

Disconnect the rear door ajar switch electrical connector and the rear door lock actuator electrical connector.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the front door latch.

Remove the three front door latch bolts, tightening them to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) upon reinstallation, followed by the removal of the eleven bolts to position the door module aside, which should be tightened to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) when reinstalled.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Ensure the door latch is in a neutral position by pushing upward on the exterior door handle actuating rod.

Remove the door lock actuator.

Open the yellow clip to disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod from the front door latch.

Rotate the push button rod downward to detach it from the latch assembly.

Avoid kinking the interior door handle actuating cable.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the three door latch bolts, ensuring to tighten them to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) upon installation.

Reverse the removal procedure to complete the installation.

Exercise caution to prevent kinking, then disconnect it.

Take care to avoid kinking the interior door handle actuating cable.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Take out the door lock actuator.

Ensure the exterior door handle and latch are installed and tightened to specification.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Remove the two rear door handle rivets and set the rear door handle aside.

Remove the door latch.

Position the front door latch aside and disconnect the front door ajar switch and the front door lock actuator electrical connectors before removing the front door latch.

Install the door ajar switch and door lock actuator if needed, position the door disarm switch, and install the circlip.

Release it and disconnect the front door latch electrical connectors before removing the front door latch.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Reconnect the window regulator and window switch electrical connectors, then position the rear door window to access the glass clamp bolt.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Remove the rear door latch.

Disconnect the actuating rod from the door lock cylinder.

Open the clip to disconnect it from the front door latch.

Disconnect the electrical connectors for the front door ajar switch and the front door lock actuator.

Tighten the screws to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) and reverse the removal procedure, ensuring to lubricate the front door latch after installation.

Position the interior door handle, loosely install the bolt, install the front door interior trim panel, center the inside door handle alignment pins to the front door trim panel, and tighten the interior door handle to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

Next, disconnect the electrical connector and take out the rear door lock actuator.

Begin by removing the front door latch.

Remove the rear door lock actuator.

Install the eight bolts, tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

Release the interior door handle actuating cable locator from the door frame, open the clip, and disconnect the exterior handle actuating rod.

Remove the screws securing the door latch and discard them.

Reverse the steps taken during removal.

Tighten the screws to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) and reverse the removal procedure, ensuring to lubricate the front door latch after installation.

Install the access hole watershield and the rear door trim panel, centering the inside door handle alignment pins to the trim panel and tightening the interior door handle bolt to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
