2008 Ford Ranger Cruise Control Servo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on 2008 Ford Ranger?
A: The service and repair of the cruise control servo begins with disconnecting the speed control actuator electrical connector. First detach the speed control cable cap from the speed control actuator through counterclockwise rotation while applying pressure to the locking arm. Sliding the core wire end out of the speed control actuator pulley becomes possible by pressing the spring retainer while removing the speed control cable. Complete removal of the bolt fastening the speed control actuator and bracket assembly needs a torque of 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) when reinstalling this component. Unright three bolts securing the speed control actuator bracket from the speed control actuator then retighten them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) during reassembly. Before finishing the installation step you must ensure the rubber seal fully engages onto the speed control cable cap after returning to the normal direction of installation.
