The vehicle service process requires placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist before working on the steering gear to fluid cooler return hose of the power steering line. A suitable suction device should be used to drain power steering fluid from the reservoir. The next step involves removing the right-hand fender splash shield. Start by releasing the clamp on the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose and disconnect it from the return hose. Afterward remove the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose from the return line at the steering gear by opening its clamp. When reinstalling secure the return hose bracket to subframe by tightening its two bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Complete the operation by putting in new components while filling the power steering system through the reverse order.
