How to service and repair the front door check on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?

In order to service the front door check, take off the lower cowl trim panel, door scuff plate, and parking brake control assembly (left side). Unscrew the nuts, weather shield and door check arm bolts. To install new components, loosen the door check arm, and reversed the procedure.
