How to Service and Repair the Steering Shaft on 2008 Lincoln Navigator?

In order to service the steering column shaft, place the vehicle on a hoist with transmission in neutral position. Support the shaft and unscrew it without rotating the shaft. Take out old bolts and replace them with new ones and tighten them to recommended torque. Reassemble by undoing the steps taken, making sure that all of the new bolts are in place.
