You can keep the ball stud from rotating by using the hex holding feature to remove the upper stabilizer bar link nut along with the anti-lock brake system (ABS) wheel speed sensor harness bolt. Note down the positions of all strut upper bushing plate nuts followed by their removal after taking out both strut-to-knuckle bolts and nuts. The driver needs to maintain control of the axle shaft to stop it from extending beyond the original position because extreme tripod CV joint extension risks part internal failure along with axle shaft collapse. Begin installing the new assembly by putting its upper mounting plate inside the inner fender against the reference marks on the strut upper bushing nuts before securing them with 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
