    A: It is essential to place the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist for the removal and replacement of rear coil springs. Starting the procedure requires you to remove the bolt connecting the brake hose bracket to the wheel knuckle component. Before handling the wheel cylinder brake line users must unfasten it from vehicles using drum brakes. The brake caliper of vehicles with disc brakes must stay supported with mechanic's wire because allowing it to hang freely from the brake hose can result in damage. Two guide bolts on the caliper should be removed for this proper support. You should first support the knuckle before removing the upper ball joint nut and then sequentially disconnecting the shock absorber lower nut together with the washer and bolt. You should first remove the upper arm inner bolt to take out the upper arm and then loosen the lower arm inner bolt. Lower the wheel knuckle support after documenting the coil spring insulator and coil spring position then proceed to remove the coil spring. The installation process requires placing the coil spring along with insulator at their noted positions before slowly lifting the wheel knuckle support. After positioning the upper control arm install the upper arm inner bolt while you tighten both the upper and lower arm inner bolts to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). Secure the lower shock absorber bolt alongside its washer followed by the nut by tightening the nut to achieve 175 Nm (129 ft. lbs.). Fix the upper ball joint nut then take out the wheel knuckle support while tightening the nut to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.). The brake caliper should receive its proper placement while brake caliper guide bolts get installed and tightened to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). Drum brake vehicles require installation of the brake line fitting to the wheel cylinder followed by 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) nut torque. Finish the procedure by placing the brake hose properly and securing its bracket using a bolt that requires a 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) torque setting followed by bleeding the brake hydraulic system in drum brake vehicles.
