The first step to service the windshield wiper motor involves eliminating the wiper mounting arm with pivot shaft assembly from the system. Detaching the wiper motor linkage arm from the wiper motor assembly will cause improper wiper arm parking. A tool of suitable design should be used to detach the wiper motor linkage arm from the wiper pivot arm linkage before removing the three bolts while tightening them to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft) when reinstalling them. Reverse all steps of wiper motor removal during the new assembly installation process while using the pre-mounted linkage arm from the manufacturer.
