2009 Ford Edge Power Steering Cooler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Cooler on 2009 Ford Edge?
A: The service process for the power steering cooler requires the use of a suitable suction device to extract fluid from the reservoir. The front bumper cover should be removed first to release clamps securing the two return hoses from the power steering cooler. Remove the bolt attaching the power steering cooler to the subframe before thickening it to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) when reinstalling. The power steering cooler must be installed with its two nuts secured at 7 Nm (62 lb-in). To complete installation of the cooler use the opposite sequence of removal while filling the power steering system with correct fluid.
