How to Service and Repair the Evaporator Outlet A/C Hose for the 2.5L and 3.0L (4V) Engines on 2009 Ford Escape?

Begin the evaporator outlet line servicing and repair process for 2.5L and 3.0L (4V) engines by mounting the vehicle on a hoist in the NEUTRAL position. Recover the refrigerant before you remove the right-hand lower engine splash shield. The procedure begins with disconnecting the A/C compressor suction fitting by removing its fitting nut and discarding the O-ring seal while the gasket seal remains. During reinstallation you should tighten the fitting to 15 Nm (133 lb-in). Remove and detach the wire harness clip located on the evaporator outlet line next disconnect the Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) fitting nut and release the fitting while discarding the gasket seals prior to tightening the fitting to 15 Nm (133 lb-in). Remove the receiver/drier bracket before separating the evaporator outlet line from it. The line needs to be removed afterward. For the new line installation use the removal procedure in reverse order while adding new gasket seals together with an O-ring seal and apply correct amounts of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. Complete the process by running evacuation and leak detections followed by system charging.
