2009 Ford Flex Power Steering Cooler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Cooler on 2009 Ford Flex?
A: The first requirement for servicing the power steering cooler is to position the vehicle in neutral gear while it rests on a hoist foundation. The service of the power steering cooler starts with unscrewing along with removing pin-type retainers from the lower radiator air deflector. Move forward by unfastening the clamps before taking off the hoses connected to the power steering cooler. Remove the two bolts which secure the power steering cooler then remove the cooler from its position. Follow the reverse order of the removal procedure to reinstall the components by tightening bolts to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). The power steering system needs to be filled prior to finishing the task.
