Collect and discard the eight bolts together with the flexplate along with its matching flexplate-to-crankshaft spacer but maintain the flexplate separate from the disk. All new installation bolts for the flexplate should be used because they operate under torque-to-yield principles making them unusable. Install the flexplate in combination with the spacer and utilize the 8 new bolts according to this tightening scheme: begin by tightening to 13 Nm (115 lb-in), continue to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) then perform a final tightening to 90 degrees. Reposition the transmission before installing the secured flexplate.
