2009 Ford Taurus Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2009 Ford Taurus?
A: The CMP Sensor service starts by removing the air cleaner outlet pipe before disconnecting the CMP sensor electrical connector. First disconnect the electrical harness of the CMP sensor before removing the bolt attaching it to the engine block. Then pull out the sensor. Follow the removal steps in reverse order when installing the CMP sensor where you must initially lubricate its O-ring seal with clean engine oil then fasten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
