How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on Ford Taurus?

The first step for servicing the Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor requires users to disconnect the battery ground cable. The first step is removing the accelerator cable snow shield before disconnecting the accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable and throttle return spring from the throttle body lever. Place the accelerator cable bracket to the side after unscrewing all the bolts. Remove the CMP sensor from its location before placing the fuel charging wiring harness out of the way of the sensor position and valve cover studs. To separate the CMP sensor you must disconnect its electrical connector and remove all its screws before extracting the device. The installation process should follow the reversal of the removal steps.
