How to service and repair the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2009 Ford Taurus?

When servicing Knock Sensor (KS), make note of the fact that all cars manufactured before May 18, 2009, require Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant whereas all of the cars after 2009 require Motorcraft Specialty Green. Take off the thermostat housing, lower intake manifold, and coolant tube and take off the KS connector and bolts. Install the new KS; attach the bolts to 20 Nm.
