2009 Ford Taurus Fan Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud on 2009 Ford Taurus?
A: Service of the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud starts by hoisting the vehicle into neutral position. The Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly must be taken off as the first step. The first step requires removing the cooling fan motor electrical connector followed by removing the wiring harness from the shroud. First detach the upper radiator hose from the cooling fan motor and shroud through a hole before accessing and releasing the tab to remove the upper radiator hose support. Disassemble the cooling fan motor and shroud by taking out their two securing bolts. Reinstall the cooling system following the removal order while tightening all bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
