How to service and repair the front parking brake cable on 2009 Lincoln MKX?

Begin repair or servicing operations on the front parking brake cable by properly setting the vehicle to NEUTRAL position and hoisting it. Commence service by taking off the equalizer adjustment nut before you remove and disconnect the front cable from the equalizer. Begin the front parking brake cable service process by taking off both the LH front door scuff plate and front seat. Detach first the parking brake control adjustment nut followed by removing both the front parking brake cable-to-control nut to extract the front parking brake cable from the control. First remove the front parking brake cable bracket bolt and afterwards remove the two bolts from the front parking brake cable floor plate. The parking brake cable at the front can now be taken off. The installation steps should start from the reverse order of removal while tightening all bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) and performing required adjustments on the parking brake cable.
