How to service the evaporator core on 2009 Lincoln Navigator?

A vacuum leak test should be performed on the evaporator core prior to removal when leak detection is needed. A new receiver/drier cartridge requires installation only after either a failed A/C compressor or damaged receiver/drier cartridge exists. A suitable new evaporator core seal comes with the service part of the evaporator core; proper installation is essential to stop air bypass and maintain proper cooling performance. The plenum chamber should be removed first while unfastening two heater core quick disconnect fitting clips and removing the dash panel seal. The operator must first remove the wire harness from the heater core upper half and evaporator core housing before taking out the six screws from the air inlet duct and removing it. Separate the heater core and evaporator core housing by removing its fifteen screws while detaching the two halves to view the evaporator core. Complete the new evaporator core installation by performing the exact steps in reverse order to remove it.
