The right-hand catalytic converter removal requires disconnection of both the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector and catalyst monitor sensor (CMS) electrical connector. After removing the two nuts that hold the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold you should alternately tighten new nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) for proper converter seating. The first step keeps both catalytic converter-to-exhaust inlet pipe bolts and flagnuts for disposal while discarding the gasket. Workers should tighten new bolts alternatively to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) during installation to evenly pull together the flanges correctly.
