Begin by rotating the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and then remove the accessory drive belt before disconnecting both Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and A/C compressor electrical connectors. Use a wrench to first remove a bolt installed on the transmission cooler tube bracket before disassembly of the nut holding the transmission cooler tube assembly. Following removal of the three stud bolts you must position the A/C compressor to a side before proceeding to discard the two nuts that hold the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. The replacement procedure starts with exhausting the eight exhaust manifold nuts accompanied by the exhaust manifold assembly before disposal of both the nuts and gasket while discarding the eight exhaust manifold studs. Testing and inspecting the exhaust manifold must be completed before putting it into place. Use eight new exhaust manifold studs before torquing them to 106 lb-in (12 Nm). New exhaust manifold gaskets need placement followed by exhaust manifold assembly onto the studs while tightening eight nuts in the specified sequence to reach 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
