2009 Lincoln Town Car Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2009 Lincoln Town Car?
A: The radiator service and repair process should start with placing the vehicle into neutral position on a hoist. Start by removing the cooling fan motor together with its shroud assembly. Using pin-type retainer removal will help you remove the radiator sight shield from its mounting place. The lower radiator hose requires detachment before moving it to the side. Reinstall these brackets after you remove their two holding bolts while ensuring their torque reaches 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The top two pin-type retainers need removal from both left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) A/C condenser air deflectors. When reinstalling the transmission cooler, tighten its tubes to 20 Nm (177 lb-in) after disconnecting them from their current position. The power steering cooler tube bracket should have its pin-type retainer and its bolt removed at this point before final installation requires a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Release the pair of retainer clips to detach the power steering fluid cooler from the radiator and then unfasten the A/C condenser from the radiator before proceeding to remove the radiator. Hose clamps should not be recycled in the replacement process because owners should use worm-style clamps instead of constant tension clamps. The cooling system requires filling and bleeding before the transmission fluid level must be checked for its correct measurement.
