2008 Lincoln Town Car Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2008 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Start servicing and repairing the radiator by parking the vehicle on a hoist with it set to neutral. You must start by unplugging the cooling fan motor from the shroud assembly before using pin-type retainers to disconnect the radiator sight shield. You can remove the lower radiator hose then set it to the side before taking out the two bolts from the radiator support brackets and tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when installing them back. Move on to the step of removing top four pin-type retainers from the A/C condenser air deflectors then disconnect transmission cooler tubes from transmission cooler and tighten them to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) during reinstallation. The power steering fluid cooler tube bracket requires removal of its pin-type retainer while the bolt from the A/C condenser needs to be tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when reinstalling. You must first detach the power steering fluid cooler through its retainer clips before releasing it from the radiator and finally removing the radiator separate from the A/C condenser. The used hose clamps should be discarded because installing proper worm-style clamps provides better performance. The procedure ends by backing the removal steps along with cooling system filling and bleeding procedures until the transmission reaches proper fluid level.
