To service the Brake Shift Interlock Actuator, deplete the backup power supply to prevent airbag deployment. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait. Remove the SRS steering column Clock Spring and its mounting bracket. Release the clip on the BSIA, then remove the park position switch and BSIA assembly. Reverse the procedure to reinstall.
