How to remove and replace the front parking brake cable on 2009 Mercury Mariner?

Before beginning front parking brake cable replacement tasks start by placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL gear on a hoist. The first maintenance step requires the removal of the parking brake control and subsequent removal of the floor console and driver side front seat. Bolt removal of the three front parking brake cable bracket should be accomplished with a torque setting of 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) which needs to be kept during reinstallation. The front parking brake cable requires disconnection at the rear parking brake cable connector after opening the locking tab followed by disconnecting the conduit from the left rear parking brake cable. The underbody front parking brake cable pass-through grommet should be released from the vehicle. The reverse process should be followed to finish the installation.
