Service operations on the transmission support crossmember start by positioning a hoisted vehicle into neutral mode. Start the process by taking off the two transmission mount nuts from the transmission support crossmember then discard them. The crossmember nuts need to be tightened to 90 Nm during reinstallation. A proper jack should be used to sustain the transmission when servicing it because free suspension is dangerous. The procedure for removing and installing the transmission support crossmember starts by removing its two opposing horizontal bolts and nuts then tightening the new ones to 127 Nm (94 lb-ft) torque. First remove the four vertical bolts together with nuts situated on each side then install new fasteners before securing them at 99 Nm (73 lb-ft) torque. The transmission support crossmember needs removal before installing it back in position using the inverse steps of removal.
