How to service the rear door window regulator on Ford Contour?

Service of the rear door window regulator starts from removing the door trim panel and door pull then unscrewing them all. The door speaker needs detachment by removing screws and disconnecting its multiplug. A plastic knife should be used to gently peel back the watershield while cutting through the Butyl strip in a way that prevents touching the adhesive surfaces to keep them bonded. The window retaining bolts need removal, while users should connect the power window operating switch electrical connector before they align the bolts with the access holes. Start by removing the ground cable from the battery then establish the glass at its full shut position while the ground cable remains disconnected. Users should detach the window regulator through removal of regulator assembly bolts followed by allowing the regulator to settle at the door bottom and then remove the regulator motor using either three bolts or the manual regulator winder method with two bolts which should also be placed at the bottom position. The electrical connector should be disconnected from the regulator motor while removing the window regulator and its mounting plate with both motor bushings. Reinstall the component by doing the reversed steps of removal.
