How to service and repair the oil cooler on Ford Crown Victoria?

The oil cooler service requires that operators position their vehicle in NEUTRAL gear on a hoist before starting work. Follow the required safety protocols to depower the fire suppression system equipped to the vehicle. The cooling system requires drainage and then removal of the oil filter while discarding it. Prior to oil filter installation users must apply engine oil on the O-ring seal. After removing the oil cooler hose bolt users should detach the oil cooler hoses from the oil filter adapter while securing them at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) torque before reinstalling. Any detection of metal or aluminum materials in the oil cooler or hoses will indicate possible mechanical issues. Disconnect the coolant hoses by loosening their clamps and remove the oil cooler together with the hoses while examining the oil cooler during this operation. The installation process must be followed by reversing all removal procedures while activating the fire suppression system according to requirements.
