How to Service the A/C Accumulator on Ford E-150 Econoline?

Start servicing the HVAC accumulator by draining and recovering refrigerant substances. Replacement of the suction accumulator/drier requires evidence from failed A/C compressor damage or present damage to the existing unit. The service needs battery tray and battery removal requires proper screw unfastening. Started by disconnecting both the evaporator discharge line and the compressor suction line yet using wrenches with fittings to prevent damage. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector followed by removing the suction accumulator/drier through separation of its screw. Eliminate the A/C cycling switch from the system during this operation. Installation of the new suction accumulator/drier requires PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C equivalent or WSH-M1C231-B Ford specification) or another equivalent oil. Apply the same oil to lubricate new O-ring seals before securing the A/C cycling switch and suction accumulator/drier with screws. The A/C cycling switch electrical connector and evaporator discharge line need to be reconnected while applying oil to all O-ring seals. Connect the suction line of the compressor then lubricate the O-ring seals while using a wrench on opposite sides of the fitting to avoid damage. Next install the screw. After replacing the battery tray and battery the process ends with evacuating and charging the A/C system.
