The service and repair of auxiliary climate control system expansion valves requires the detachment of the A/C
Evaporator core. Perform the separate process of the capillary bulb from the outer evaporator outlet tube while taking precaution to prevent any damage. First remove the A/C insulating tape from the tube before unclipping the capillary bulb from its mounting on the tube. Using a wrench on each fitting side, disconnect the refrigerant lines which include both the A/C liquid jumper line and the inlet line to prevent damages. The installation of the new A/C evaporator expansion valve requires fresh green O-ring seals combined with clean PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil as lubricant (R-134a Systems) or equivalent lubricant. Secure the capillary bulb to the evaporator outlet tube by using clips before you cover it with A/C insulating tape. At the same time reconnect the A/C liquid jumper line and the inlet line. The last step requires you to reattach the A/C evaporator core before evacuating the system until it reaches the correct pressure and performing the operational checks.
