How to service and repair the upper intake manifold on Ford E-150 Econoline?

Service and repair of the upper intake manifold starts by taking out the air cleaner assembly together with the engine cover. Unload the accelerator cable and speed control cable only when necessary before you dispose of the push pin clip to discard. Remove the IAC valve by disconnecting its electrical connector then pulling out the assembly. The throttle body requires cable removal for both accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable while present. The cables should be disconnected from their cable bracket before removing their spark plug wire holders. Proceed by taking out the 12 upper intake manifold securing bolts. The installation requires a new accelerator control splash shield clip push pin and a gasket check of the intake manifold upper surface so it can be replaced when needed. The bolt installation consists of two steps where initial torque should be set to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.) followed by a final torque of 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
