How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Ford E-150?

Service of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor begins by disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by removing the air cleaner assembly through unhooking of the clamp and disconnection of inlet and outlet sides. Avoid any touch of the MAF sensing elements because any interference can cause the unit to break. You should first let go of MAF assembly latches but pull out the red clip before disconnecting its electrical connector. The MAF sensor requires its screws to be removed while checking for a complete seal of the engine air cleaner housing grommet to block unmetered air entry into the engine. Use the alignment notch for proper alignment of the engine air cleaner during installation and reinstall in the opposite order of removal steps.
