  A: Start the repair and service operation on the 4R70E/4R75E fluid pan by placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. Drain all fluid from the transmission fluid pan by loosening its bolts until the pan becomes empty before removing the bolts and pan together with its gasket. Gently extract the transmission fluid filter and its seal by pulling it downwards. Check for damage on the fluid pan along with its gasket and magnet while performing thorough cleaning of these parts. When installing new transmission fluid filters customers need to use a small screwdriver to eliminate any remaining seal from inside the main control bore but protect the bore from damage at the same time. A new filter combined with a new seal needs to be installed when repairing transmission contamination issues yet the filter can be reused without excessive contamination found. Set the magnet inside the fluid pan after which install the fresh gasket and cleaned-up or new fluid pan. Secure the pan to 14 Nm torque (124 lb-in) balance. To fill an empty transmission and torque converter system operators must use at least 4.7L (5 qt) of fluid with topping up until the correct filling mark is reached.
