The first task in automatic transmission shifter service or repair requires disconnecting the vehicle battery. The steering wheel must be placed at full down position when the vehicle has a column that tilts. Press the headlamp knob to ON and gently remove it from its clip by using a small screwdriver. First remove the audio unit by taking out the headlamp switch bezel using a counterclockwise rotation.
