Ford E-250 Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator on Ford E-250?
A: The pressure relief and fuel line venting procedure should be performed before starting fuel pressure regulator service and repair work. The service personnel need to remove the fuel pressure regulator and coalescer/filter as one integrated unit. The first step involves pinching coolant lines away from the fuel pressure regulator at 76 mm (3 in.) distance. To disconnect both the low-pressure fuel line and the high-pressure fuel line from the coalescer/filter use the hex tool located on the regulator side of the fitting. Remove installation bolts that secure the fuel pressure regulator and coalescer/filter to their bracket before removing both components with the mounting assembly from the vehicle. You should replace the face seal O-rings of the fuel lines and use 5W30 engine oil that follows Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G or equivalent to make installation easier and achieve proper sealing. Use a torque wrench adapter to secure the fuel lines based on the recommended effective torque measurements. The removal steps should be followed in reverse order while checking for leaks during a fuel system test to verify correct operation.
