An individual can begin fuel rail service by disconnecting both battery connections and the fuel pressure tubing. Begin service of the fuel rail by taking away the engine cover and air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube. You should first disconnect the fuel tube spring lock coupling and then remove the exhaust manifold-to-EGR system module tube by tightening it to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). Proceed by uninstalling the transmission fluid level indicator while ignoring the tube bolt until reinstallation when both components will be secured with 10 Nm (89 lb-in). The red clip on the electronic throttle body electrical connector must be completely pulled out before starting the disconnection process. First disconnect both the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor vacuum hose together with its electrical connector then unplug the quick connect coupling to extract the crankcase ventilation tube and the PCV tube. The technician must disconnect and plug the PCV coolant hose before unattaching each of the eight
Fuel Injector electrical connectors. The four fuel rail stud bolts need removal but follow up by tightening each one to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque before reinstalling them. The procedure requires users to disassemble the fuel rail assembly along with fuel injectors before separating the fuel injectors from the rail. Verify that each of the eight fuel injectors plus the fuel rail are completely seated before performing the installation procedure in reverse order.
