Ford E-250 Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on Ford E-250?
    A:
Disconnection of the battery is the first step to servicing and repairing the cruise control servo. Your first step should include removing the engine air cleaner together with the air cleaner outlet tube and then the accelerator control splash shield. The speed control cable needs to be removed from the throttle body cam through the process of squeezing the retaining tabs followed by lightweight cable detachment. The radiator coolant recovery reservoir needs to be set aside by removing its mounting bolts while moving the reservoir. The speed control actuator can be detached from the inner fender well after removing its electrical connector and unscrewing all associated bolts. First push and depress the locking tab then rotate the speed control cable cap to disengage the cable before extracting the actuator. Use a wrench to remove the speed control actuator from its bracket through removal of all its securing bolts. The installation process should be performed in the reverse order of removal steps.
