  A hoisted vehicle allows access to both the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor and Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor through removal of rear transmission mount nuts. Set a high lift transmission jack under the transmission following correct placement to prevent damage from occurring to the TSS and OSS sensors. The mechanic should first detach the rear transmission mount before lifting the transmission to remove the bolts holding it to the rear crossmember support. The TSS and OSS sensors need to be accessible by lowering the transmission. You can remove the TSS sensor by first removing its attached bolt and next the sensor itself. When removing the OSS sensor follow the same procedure of sensor bolt removal before taking out the sensor itself. When installing the OSS sensor first apply lubrication then place it in position and fasten it with the bolt. First apply lubrication to the TSS sensor before installing it with its bolt. Keep the transmission back at a safe height because damaging the sensors will occur. The installation of the rear transmission mount begins with raising and bolting it before placing the transmission on the rear crossmember support. You should complete the job by reinstalling the rear transmission mount nuts and letting the vehicle descend to the ground.
