The Wheel Bearing part is one of the most important parts that have a huge influence on the Ford E-250 series when it comes to its reliability and performance. By providing for free rotation of the wheel, the Wheel Bearing ensures that there is little or no resistance from the wheel on the hub assembly to the vehicle's drive system. Throughout the years, the configurations of the Ford E-250 have changed a bit; the most common is the unit or the integral hub and bearing assembly, which sometimes comes with an ABS sensor to increase safety. This design ensures that replacement can be done quickly and easily since it is one assembly that can be substituted with another. Also, the E-250 model has non-driven axle hubs with replaceable tapered roller bearings, thus, insisting on regular check-ups because of such components may cause noise, vibration or even wheel loss. Normally used for the Ford E-250, the wheel bearing is applicable to various types of E-250 that underline its relevance in the existing E series. Besides providing great utility, it is very useful in terms of the vehicle's performance as it also helps in the protection of the driver and passengers. Peculiarly, the Wheel Bearing can be recommended among other automotive counterparts because of the product's durability and reliability of performance thus supporting the efficiency of the E-250. All in all, the Wheel Bearing is vital for anyone who wants to enhance his/her car's performance and stability on the road.

Ford E-250 Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the wheel bearings and wheel hub seal on a full floating axle Dana on Ford E-250?
    A:
Beginning the repair process on the Dana full floating axle wheel bearings and wheel hub seal starts with removing the rear hub assembly with Brake Disc. Remove the rear hub seal together with the inner rear wheel bearing from the assembly before discarding the rear hub seal. The 8 bolts securing dual rear wheel vehicles must be taken out to separate the rear hub from the brake disc. The cleaning process includes complete removal of old grease and lubricant from the rear hub before proceeding with the use of the Rear Wheel Hub Bearing Cup and Adapter for inner cup extraction and the Rear Wheel Hub Bearing Cup Remover and Adapter for outer cup removal. Inspection of the rear axle housing spindle requires cleaning alongside the rear wheel bearings along with cups for assessment of bearing races and rollers for pitting or galling or erratic wear patterns. All worn bearings must be discarded. When installing the bearing cups use the Rear Axle Drawbar together with the Rear Wheel Hub Bearing Cup Installers to place inner and outer cups in position while ensuring no 0.038 mm (0.0015 in) feeler gauge fits between those components and the rear hub throughout the entire range; in case of incorrect installation do reseat the bearing cups. The rear hub requires the inner rear wheel bearing to be installed by a suitable seal installer before placing and securing the rear brake disc with 8 bolts tightened to 104 Nm (77 lb-ft). The last step involves reinstallation of both the rear hub and brake disc assembly.
