Start the procedure to service and repair the upper control arm by taking off the wheel along with its tire. Place the suitable jackstand under the lower arm before increasing the suspension height. First remove and dispose of the upper arm outboard bolt and its matching nut then proceed with lowering the lower arm before removing the jack. Position a jackstand at the subframe and discard the two bolts used for the bushing brace before subframe bushing retrieval. The removal of the upper arm inboard bolt requires subframe lowering through slow operation of the jack to reduce spring pressure. Therefore start by removing the subframe rearward nut. Complete the procedure by uninstalling the upper arm inboard bolt along with its associated nut and remove the upper arm from service. Position the upper arm in its correct position before installing the upper arm inboard bolt and nut without tightening. Lift the jack while adding the subframe rearward nut until it reaches 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) torque followed by installation of the subframe forward nut reaching the same torque value. Fasten the two subframe bushing brace bolts by applying 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque. Lift the jack again to access the lower arm before attaching the upper arm outboard components yet keeping them untightened. After removing the jack you should install both tire and wheel. Tighten the upper arm outboard bolt to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft) when the vehicle rests on the wheel and tire before applying the same torque value to the upper arm inboard bolt.
