How to service the thermostat on Ford Edge?

To service the thermostat, empty the cooling system, lift out the air cleaner assembly and outlet pipe and lift out the thermostat housing cover. Change the O-ring seal and thermostat and lubricate the new seal with clean engine coolant. Last but not least: reverse steps of removing and fill the cooling system.
