Draining the cooling system should be the initial step for servicing the thermostat. The next step involves taking out both the air cleaner assembly with its accompanying outlet pipe. The procedure demands removal of two bolts from the thermostat housing cover before placing it aside. Tighten this component to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs) upon reinstallation. The service requires removal of the O-ring seal and thermostat followed by cleaning the O-ring seal and performing inspections for wear. If replacement is needed users should install a new O-ring seal. The O-ring seal of the thermostat requires clean engine coolant lubrication prior to its reinstallation. Execute the removal steps in reverse and complete the cooling system fill-up and bleeding process.
