How to Service the Suction A/C Accumulator on Ford Escape?

Service of the suction accumulator begins with removing the refrigerant. You must first detach both the A/C cycling switch and mounting nuts from the A/C manifold and tube installation bracket. All ports should receive plugs to avoid dirt and moisture contamination before removing the A/C manifold and tube from the suction accumulator. Proceed with the removal of suction accumulator mounting bracket nuts before plugging all ports to stop contamination from occurring when disconnecting the suction line from the A/C evaporator core. Finally, remove the suction accumulator. To install the new suction accumulator first perform the reverse removal steps while conducting a proper PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or equivalent to Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B lubrication.
