Ford Escape A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core on Ford Escape?
A: The first task when servicing or repairing the HVAC condenser core involves refrigerant recovery. Begin by taking off the front Bumper cover followed by plugging all ports to stop entry of moisture and dirt contamination. The service requires separation of the condenser core air conditioning line (peanut) fittings nuts followed by removal of screws and A/C condenser core brackets. Disconnection of two air conditioning line (peanut) fittings needs to be completed before removing the A/C condenser core. Plan the reverse of removal steps to install the new A/C condenser core while using correct amounts of PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or an equivalent product following Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. O-ring seals must also be lubricated with PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or equivalent material that satisfies Ford requirements. The new suction accumulator needs installation only when physical signs note A/C compressor failure or suction accumulator damage along with suspected condenser core leaks which require pre-removal leak testing.
