How to service the radiator cooling fan motor safely on Ford Escort?

In order to service the radiator cooling fan motor, it is important to be safe and never start the engine before checking the fan blade. Unplug the battery ground cable, and then bump out retainers and wiring harness, then wring out the fan shroud. To be installed, reverse the steps of removal.
